During his 23 years with the Beech Mountain Club, Tim Smith, director of tennis, built the club’s developmental tennis program into one of the best in the high country. His expertise, wit and personable nature draw people from North Carolina and surrounding states to the tennis program, lessons and clinics.
Beech Mountain’s tennis courts are open May through mid-October from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Tennis Shop is located in the Trillium Building, at 103 Lakeledge Road in Beech Mountain.
The Beech Mountain Tennis Club maintains a busy schedule of activities. The club’s staff offers private lessons and clinics. Adults and youngsters compete in tennis tournaments throughout the summer. And, for those who like to interact and compete with other clubs, the Mountain Cup and Inter-Clubs schedules home and away matches with most area clubs.

Beech Mountain Club Tennis Association
The BMCTA sponsors activities and parties for its members and guests. A summer-long tennis ladder concludes with finals of each group. Always a fun favorite is the association’s fast-serve and accuracy contest to see how fast you can serve and what you can hit. Bringing members out each week is BMCTA’s Thursday round robin for both men’s and women’s doubles.
